The brassband concert

DSCF1110.JPGDSCF1111.JPG

On March19 I watched the 11th anniversary concert of the brassband of my school, because the dance team of the drama club, which I'm in charge of, joined the concert. The first half was rather usual school concert with the conductor in black, the students in school uniform and without using horizontal light. But after the half time break, the concert changed dramatically into quite an entertainment with the conductor in white, the student in black, and using a lot of horizontal light effect.

The girls wearing school uniforms in the right photo are the dance team dancing to " Heavy rotation " by AKB48.

Pink and white costume girls are also the dance team dancing to " Mister" by Kara. And three boy and girls on the last photo are costumed in characters of " Super Mario Brothers".

焦がしにんにくラーメン.jpg

My wife and I had lunch at A cafeteria today. She ordered soy sauce ramen and inari sushi, and I roasted garlic ramen and fried rice. The waitress called my order 'black ramen',which seemed another name for roasted garlic ramen. ' Black ramen ' had quite a strong flavor of garlic and tasted very spicy with a lot of pepper I put in it. If you like strong flavored and very hot tasted ramen, you had bette try ' black ramen ', I think.

Bad luck

I visited Miyajima island with my wife today. The fortunes I drew, unfortunately, predicts bad luck, while the one my wife drew predicts small luck.

After we visited Itsukushima shrine, we went to Daishoin temple.

At lunch time, we had anago donburi, famous Miyajima's food, which was very delicious though rather expensive, indeed.

No sooner had we left Miyajima than it began to rain, which we thought good luck. I hope this year will bring us much more good luck!

duck(鴨)

○duck(鴨)

   Wednesday, Apri21, 2010

In today's English lesson, we learned about ' duck.' According to the text, there are many kinds of duck and domesticated ducks can be eaten in China, while mallards, wild ducks, are rarely eaten. And livers of domesticated ducks are the most delicious food called ' foie gras'.

Domesticated ducks are ducks that are raised for meat, eggs and down. Many ducks are also kept for show, as pets or for their ornamental value. Almost all of the varieties of domesticated ducks are descended from the Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos), apart from the Muscovy Duck (Cairina moschata).

The Mallard, or Wild duck (Anas platyrhynchos[1]), probably the best-known and most recognizable of all ducks, is a dabbling duck which breeds throughout the temperate and sub-tropical areas of North America, Europe, Asia, New Zealand (where it is currently the most common duck species), and Australia. It is strongly migratory in the northern parts of its breeding range, and winters farther south. For example, in North America it winters south to Mexico, but also regularly strays into Central America and the Caribbean between September and May.

The male birds have bright green head, while the female is light brown. The Mallard lives in wetlands, eats water plants, and is gregarious. The Mallard is the ancestor of all domestic ducks, and can interbreed with other species of genus Anas. This interbreeding is causing rarer species of ducks to become genetically diluted.

Too early lunch(早過ぎる昼食)

○Too early lunch(早過ぎる昼食)

   Tuesday, Apri20, 2010

I don't know the reason at all, but the delivery time of ' Hello lunch' where I order lunch catering service every day is getting earlier and earlier. To my surprise, today's lunch arrived before 9:30! As I have light breakfast, a slice of toast and a cup of coffee, at 5:30, I had lunch at 9:30 today. But isn't it too early? I think it not so much 'lunch' as 'brunch'.
